Q: Do you have to be a student to play for DCU?
A: In order to play for the inter-varsity sides you must be a registered student with DCU. Our Senior LSL sides are not student only and already have several non DCU student members. We do, however, always encourage DCU students to join our LSL sides.
Q: I signed up at clubs & socs but have not been contacted.
A: At the clubs and socs day you register to be a member of the club. We take your details to ensure that we can contact you, however, that is not a guarantee that we will. Sometimes we miss people or they do not receive the messages for whatever reason. In this case simply email our development officer, Fran Butler, on soccer@dcu.ie and he can inform you of the next available session that you can attend.
Q: I want to get involved in the running of the club, who do I contact?
A: We are always looking to get more students involved in the running of the club, many hands might light work! We hold our annual A.G.M at the start of every college year. The committee is elected at this meeting. If you want to get involved, keep an eye on the website for the date/venue information for the A.G.M and come along. If you have missed the A.G.M but would still like to get involved, you can email our devleopment officer, Fran Butler, on soccer@dcu.ie to see what roles are available.
Q: Am I insured when playing soccer for DCU?
A: All students, when playing for a University club, are covered by the University’s insurance. This covers our intervarsity and astro leagues. For our Senior LSL sides, we have a separate insurance policy that covers players.
Q: Do you have any ladies teams?
A: There is a separate ladies soccer club in DCU. Their website can be found in our links page. We hope to eventually merge clubs with the ladies and provide a club for all soccer in DCU for we’re not quite there yet.
Q: How do I join the LSL teams?
A: Our LSL sides train on Tuesday (8-10) and Thursday (8-10) either in St.Clares or on the campus all weather pitches. If you would like to come along and train, you can contact the LSL sides using our contact page (here) to check the times and locations for the training sessions.
Q: Does it cost anything to join DCU?
A: For students to join the club, the cost is €4 at the clubs and socs day. There are no other charges to join the club. In order to play for our Senior LSL sides, however, there is a registration fee. This fee is €205 for a full season for an employed person. For unemployed/students, it is €185 (payable in installments). There are no match-day subs or any other fees, this is a once off charge to cover insurance, gear, matches, coaching etc.

He reminds me of Ali Dia
He reminds me of Lee Sharpe.
I remember when young Moyales was but a nipper.
Back then we said he’d never make it as a player.
Damn we were clever.
